A cantilevered masterpiece perched above the Pacific, blending raw concrete with warm timber to frame infinite ocean views.
The Horizon Villa was conceived as a dialogue between land and sea. The clients, a retired couple with a deep love of the California coastline, wanted a home that felt like a natural extension of the cliffside landscape.
We responded with a series of cantilevered volumes that step down the slope, each framing a different aspect of the ocean panorama. The material palette - board-formed concrete, white oak, and blackened steel - was chosen to weather gracefully alongside the coastal environment.
Interior spaces flow seamlessly into covered terraces, blurring the boundary between shelter and sky. The result is a home that feels both monumental and intimately connected to its site.
Board-formed concrete, white oak flooring, blackened steel framing, low-iron glass, natural stone countertops, lime plaster walls, and sustainably harvested cedar cladding.
